Pediatric PT (Daphne)

When kids struggle with movement, balance, coordination, or motor skills, it can affect confidence and participation at home, school, and play. Pediatric physical therapy helps children build strength, stability, and movement skills in a way that feels safe, positive, and encouraging.

Pediatric physical therapy services are offered at our Daphne location. We work with families to create a plan that supports your child’s development and helps them feel more capable in everyday activities.

What Pediatric Therapy Is (and Isn’t)

Pediatric PT is often described as “play with a purpose.” Sessions may include games and fun activities, but every activity is chosen for a reason—to build skills like coordination, balance, strength, endurance, and movement confidence.

Our goal is to help your child move more efficiently and comfortably, and to support independence and participation in daily life.

Why We Offer Pediatric Therapy at Eastern Shore PT

Every child is different, so we build therapy around your child’s needs, age, and goals. Common items we treat include developmental delay, torticollis, toe walking, and other orthopedic conditions.

A Child-Friendly Evaluation

We look at movement patterns, strength, balance, coordination, and age-appropriate skills.

Confidence that Carries Over

We focus on skills to help kids participate more comfortably in everyday life—not just in the clinic.

Goal- and Play-Based Sessions

Activities are engaging for kids while building functional progress.

Family Education & Home Strategies

You’ll leave with clear, doable ideas to help support progress at home.

Support for Motor Development

Pediatric PT supports gross motor development and movement milestones as appropriate.

What to Expect

Your first visit typically includes:

  • Conversation about concerns, history, and goals

  • Observation of how your child moves and plays

  • Simple skill-based activities (appropriate for age)

  • A clear plan and recommended next steps

Ongoing visits may include:

  • Balance, coordination, and strength activities

  • Mobility and flexibility work (as needed)

  • Functional practice (running, jumping, stairs, playground skills, etc.)

  • Progress updates and goal check-ins

What Pediatric PT Can Help With

Pediatric PT may help children who have challenges with:

  • Balance and coordination

  • Strength and endurance

  • Gross motor delays (movement milestones)

  • Difficulty with running, jumping, hopping, or playground skills

  • Posture or movement pattern concerns

  • Recovery after injury (once cleared)

  • Confidence with movement and physical activity

If you’re not sure whether PT is the right fit, we’re happy to talk through your concerns and help guide next steps.

A Note for Parents & Caregivers

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. We’ll keep communication clear and simple, celebrate progress along the way, and give you strategies you can use between visits. That consistency is often what helps progress stick long-term.
